Rami Darwish is a PhD candidate at the Department of Industrial Economics and Management (INDEK) in the European Doctorate in Industrial Management program (EDIM), based in the Royal Institute of Technology (Home University) and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Host University).

Rami holds was a master of business administration (MBA) degree in St. Cloud State University, Minnesota, USA through a Fulbright scholarship by the Department of states of the United States in 2011 . Rami also hold an M.Sc. in Strategic Project Management through Erasmus Mundus Scholarship in 2014 with triple degree with distinction from Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh, UK), MIP – Politecnico di Milano (Milan, Italy) and Umeå University (Umeå, Sweden). In 2005, Rami obtained a BS.c in Information engineering with specialty in software engineering and information systems from Tishreen University in Lattakia, Syria.

Rami has extensive professional experience outside academia, working as an ICT head of department in shipping company as well as a business marketing manager, and business analyst for a range of industries. This diverse and international background helped him to gain insights on business environment from both academic and professional perspectives as well as critical challenges facing organizations.

Current research:

Rami is undertaking research responsibilities within two innovative future transportation projects financed by public and private stakeholders in Sweden. The first project is “Wireless Bus Stop Charging” aims at testing and evaluating the potential of wireless charging for buses in city traffic. Ultimately, electric busses shall contribute to reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency and reduce fossil-fuel dependence. The second project is Electric Road Systems Engineering Toolbox (ERSET). which aims to capturing knowledge, create analysis methods and tools to support optimal implementation of Electric Road Systems (ERS) in the Transport system. A study based on ongoing ERS demonstrations and initiatives in Sweden.
